Behind the Screens: How We Run an Online-Only Store You Can Actually Trust
Sizing is the reason many people hesitate to buy clothes online. Fair enough—no one wants a parcel that doesn’t fit. Here’s how to make it easier, plus what we do on our side.
Start with a quick home check.
Grab a tape measure and measure three things for tops: chest, shoulder width, and length. For bottoms: waist, hip, and outseam. It takes two minutes, and it’s more reliable than comparing “M” to “M” across different brands.
Use the size chart, not the letter.
Every product page includes a size chart with actual measurements. If the notes say “runs small” or “relaxed fit,” trust the notes—those are based on real feedback from customers and our own checks.
Think about the fabric.
Cotton with a touch of elastane will feel different from a structured wool blend. If you like a closer fit and the fabric has stretch, you might not need to size up. If the fabric is rigid and you’re between sizes, going up one can be smarter.
Still unsure? Ask.
Email support@alunasydney.com with your usual size in a brand you own and the fit you prefer (closer/regular/relaxed). We’ll suggest a size based on the measurements in the chart—no guesswork, no scripts.
What we do behind the scenes: we measure random pieces from each batch, compare them with the published chart, and flag any pattern we don’t like. If a product tends to fit small in the shoulders or long in the sleeves, we’ll call that out on the page.
Online fit shouldn’t be a gamble. With a tape measure and honest product info, it becomes a pretty safe bet.
